Jerry Gallegos
Born in Mexico and raised in Southern California, Jerry Gallegos has been a professional photographer for over 17 years. He began his career as a photographer’s intern from ’90 to ’92 for Mickey Elliot, the Raiders team photographer. Jerry quickly advanced to team photographer for the Los Angeles Rams, where he worked from ‘92 through the ‘94 season. His talent created an opportunity in ’95 for him to take a position with the Houston Oilers and the Houston Rockets as team photographer, where he stayed until ‘97. From there he moved back to Los Angeles and freelanced for the NFL from ‘97 through 2000. Then the city of Houston was awarded a new NFL team, the Houston Texans, where he served as team photographer from 2000 through 2003.
During his association with the NFL, Jerry’s responsibilities included photographing game action, both at home and away, as well as supplying all photos for team websites, programs, media guides and handling all player photo requests. He has shot several Super Bowls and Pro Bowls as an NFL staff photographer. His photos have graced the covers of several magazines, including issues of Sports Illustrated, Becketts, Tuff Stuff and Sport Magazine. Also to his credit, a Super Bowl Edition of Monopoly, and a commemorative Super Bowl Wheaties box featuring the Dallas Cowboys. His work has appeared on over 1000 individual sports trading cards, and some of his work hangs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
After some time off due to the passing of his mother, Olivia, Jerry’s direction changed and lead him towards music. There he became the exclusive live photographer for the Alternative Rock band, Collective Soul in 2005. During his two years touring with Collective Soul, he also shot such notable performers as Maroon 5, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Creed and Foreigner. Throughout his career photographing athletes and performers, Jerry has also worked with many youth sports leagues, taking action and candid photos of players. He has also shot portraits, both in studio and on location, and has produced commercial and product photographs for corporate use.
In 2007, after careful consideration and planning, Jerry and his good friend and co-owner Jim Campbell have decided to launch a photo studio in Las Vegas, where Jerry now resides with his sons, Robert and Ryan and dogs Rambo and Remy.
